Warehouse Forklift Aisle & Load Measurements

Measure the loads as they are handled, including any overhang. Then record the narrowest working aisle and the rack positions the truck must reach. Give the supplier those figures before discussing a particular model.

Toyota’s example aisle calculation adds the basic right-angle stack measurement, load length and 12 inches of clearance. It is a starting point for dealer assessment, not a substitute for checking the actual operation. Compare warehouse forklift prices only after confirming suitable truck types.

Counterbalance Forklifts, Reach Trucks & Stackers

Counterbalance trucks are a familiar option, but a reach truck may better suit a racked warehouse. A pallet stacker can be worth considering for a different handling pattern. Compare the task, travel distances and operating environment instead of selecting the largest truck within budget.

Ask for a demonstration where practical and have the supplier explain the limitations of the proposed equipment. Include the load, rack and doorway details. A low price on the wrong truck can create ongoing inconvenience rather than a saving.

Used Forklift Condition & Power Packages

Request the maintenance history and inspect the truck with qualified help. Check which battery, charger, forks and attachments are included. A used electric truck with a weak battery should not be priced mentally as a complete ready-to-work package.

Compare forklift power costs and pneumatic versus cushion tires. Ask for written descriptions of refurbishment, warranty and dealer support, rather than relying on a broad “serviced” label.

Forklift Service Support & Purchase Costs

Before accepting a price, find out who provides service, how parts are obtained and what happens if the truck needs repair. Compare service coverage and exclusions alongside the machine. A business that depends on one forklift may value support differently from a fleet with spare capacity.

Confirm delivery, training arrangements where required and the equipment included in handover. Our forklift purchase FAQs cover additional buying questions. Request prices for a clear specification so each supplier is competing on the same job.
